Description
This grenache is off 80yo bushvines in Blewitt Springs, hand-picked, destemmed but a few whole berries in the open fermenters. Wild yeast and aged in used French oak, the amount of time not specified. Dark red with some development; an explosion of flavour all dark fruits, licorice and leather, potpourri and earth. Full-bodied with everything hit by a wall of powerful yet sandy tannins, some refreshing tamarind-like acidity. The Achilles heel is its 16% alcohol level.
